Individual Psychotherapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT is a present-focused treatment modality that promotes awareness, evaluation and restructuring of negative and inaccurate thought processes in order to improve mood and outlook. This approach helps us to reframe our perspective on daily struggles in our relationships and our personal lives.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

ACT is a therapeutic approach that teaches us to accept the wide range of emotional experiences that we have throughout our lives. In conjunction with this practice of emotional acceptance, we deepen our understanding of our values and learn to make behavioral changes to live in more alignment with these values.

Self-Compassion

Self-compassion allows us to look at our thoughts, feelings and behavioral patterns through a curious, nonjudgmental lens. Self compassion teaches us acceptance and allows us to relate to ourselves and others with openness. This practice can promote improved self-esteem, self-love and can strengthen our relationships.

Strengths-Based

To approach problem-solving, personal growth and healing from a strengths-based perspective means to focus on one's positive attributes, resilience and internal strengths when setting goals and working toward achievement of those goals.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness teaches us to become aware of our automatic cognitive and emotional responses. Through this practice we are able to become attuned to our physiological experience of emotion. In doing so, we can learn to respond rather than react to stressful situations.

Motivational Interviewing

MI interviewing is a client-centered therapeutic approach that focuses on exploring and resolving ambivalence in order to affect behavioral change. MI techniques are helpful at increasing self-awareness and developing deeper insight into our motivations and barriers to creating lasting change in our lives.
